His libido had reached a crescendo but his plea to have sexual satisfaction was turned down. Despite the incessant attempts to cajole the lady into granting his request, access was denied.

Not even was a counter plea from the lady who claims to be in a serious relationship with a man of God was able to douse the sexual desire of her pursuer who then throws in another request.

“Let’s go and sit over there so that I’ll just suck it. Over even if you want, Lemme lick; lemme just lick your vagina,” he begged to which the lady replied, “Manager, it’s not good.”

The man who had commuted from his residence to the lady’s through a motorbike with high anticipation for pleasure retorted: “Just do me this singular favour. If you don’t do this favour and anything happens to me, I won’t forgive you. I will never forgive you if you don’t do me just this favour.”

The story has been captured in a 21-minute audio clip and has been attached to a petition to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

The petitioner, Doreen Smith, a nurse working at the Soma CHPS Compound at the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in the Savannah Region claims the audio is a record of what ensued between her and Mahama Sankara, Manager of Sawla NHIA.

According to 3news.com, the nurse has petitioned NHIA to investigate the district manager for “sexual assault” and “attempted rape”.

In her account of the events, Miss Doreen Smith alleged Mr. Sankara had come to the CHPS compound at about 9:00am July 8 under the guise of “monitoring” but turned around to make sexual advances at her.

She said even though Mr. Sankara did not succeed in having sexual intercourse with her, he fingered her in the process of struggling with him when the advances became intense.

“However, when we got into the facility, Mahama Sakara (the Sawla NHIA Manager) started making sexual demands. Upon several pleading that I was engaged to a man, Mr Sakara engaged me in a struggle to have sex with me. In the process, his (Sakara) fingers entered my vagina but could not have sexual intercourse with me,” part of her petition read.

Doreen says she has since reported the issue to the police and the District Health Directorate.

“This incident was reported to the Sawla Police Station on the 9th of July, 2020 pending investigation. Equally, I have reported the incident of this attempted rape and sexual harassment to Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Health Directorate.”

Applicant abandons voter registration after his Fulani friend claimed they are related

New Voters Registration 620x406File photo: The applicant abandoned the process becuase his guarantor claimed they are relatives

There was drama at one of the Electoral Commission’s (EC’s) registration center at Damongo, capital of the Savannah Region after a prospective registrant abandoned the process because his Fulani friend who went to guarantee for him to register said they are related.

The Fulani man was able to successfully register because he was born and bread in the Damongo Constituency and had the Ghana card and so decided to come to the aid of his Gonja friend who has no Ghana card and passport.

At the Registration center where they went together, the electoral officer asked the relationship between the two and the Fulani man quickly said the Gonja man is the firstborn of his aunty.

The Fulani man went further to narrate about their family lineage but this infuriated the Gonja man who immediately cancelled the process since according to him he cannot become a Fulani because of a voter identification card. Not even persuasion from the EC officials present would convince the man who walked away from the registration center.

The furious man later told people who asked him about the issue that he is a Gonja royal and not related to the Fulani but was surprised his Fulani friend introduced him as his family member instead of his friend. The Gonja man said if he allows the EC officials to record his name as related to a Fulani it can affect his future status as a prospective Chief.

The issue has been the topic for discussion in the Damongo town with many people making enquiries to know the Fulani man involved so as to trace the lineage of the Gonja man who is known to be a royal and can become a future Chief in the Damomgo area.

We have delivered our promise to Zongos: we will do more in 4 years – Bawumia tells Chief Imam

DR. Bawumia ImamVice President Dr Bawumia visit’s Chief Imam

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said the governing New Patriotic Party under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo has fulfilled its 2016 electoral promise to the people of Zongo in its first term of office.

Speaking during a visit to the National Chief Imam on Sunday to officially inform him of his re-nomination as running mate to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for December’s Presidential elections, Dr. Bawumia recalled that prior to the 2016 elections, the President promised the national Chief Imam and the people of Zongo that should Allah make him President, he would establish a ministry and a special fund to facilitate the development of Zongo communities, adding that the President has duly honoured his promise.

“During the 2016 elections campaign, President Nana Akufo-Addo was here and I came with him. He promised the National Chief Imam that should God make him President, he would look after the welfare of the Zongos and Muslims. He will run an inclusive government,” Dr. Bawumia recalled.

“As we prepared our 2016 manifesto, we looked at the Zongos and we identified two key problems that we thought God willing if we had the chance, we would address. One was education.”

“The other was to look for a vehicle that will prioritize development in Zongos because we wanted to move away from the rice and sugar type of development. We wanted to focus on the real needs of the people and we wanted to move away from what we will do when it is Ramadan and Hajj, which seemed to be the way the Zongos were dealt with. We thought we needed a vehicle to prioritize and address the needs of Zongo’s on an ongoing basis”.

“It is in that context that President Nana Akufo-Addo did two things. First, he established a whole ministry for inner-city and Zongo development as well as the Zongo Development Fund with funding provided for in our annual budgets.”

Dr. Bawumia noted that after three and half years in office, the fulfillment of the promise through the creation of the Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo Development, as well as the Zongo Development have paved the way for sustainable development in the two areas in many Zongo communities across the country.

“If you go around a lot of Zongos now, you will feel the impact of this ministry whether it is a classroom block, toilet facilities, drainage, systems, water, roads, bridges, clinics, etc. The Ministry and the Zongo Development Fund are addressing many problems in Zongos across the country,” said Dr. Bawumia.

On education, the Vice President said it is a sure way of development and poverty eradication, and therefore, a key area of concern and focus to the President hence his massive investment in the education of Ghanaian children.

“The only way any community can break out from poverty, sustainably, is through education and this does not just apply to the Zongos. It applies to the whole world,” said Dr. Bawumia.

“Most of us come from the villages and the only reason we have been able to move ahead, one way or the other, is through education. So we said that one of the biggest things we needed to do was education.”

Dr. Bawumia noted further that the Free SHS policy has provided free access to secondary education for every child from Zongo in Ghana, and it demonstrated President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to ensuring a brighter future for the Zongo and Ghanaian child.

He said, in line with the government’s commitment to ensure the education of the Zongo child even at the highest level, his office, in conjunction with the Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo Development Fund, provided scholarships to 40 students from Zongos and other deprived communities to go and study medicine in Cuba.

“Nana Akufo-Addo has really fulfilled his promise in these two major areas; in education, he has provided free senior high school and that is a major relief to a lot of parents in the Zongos. Today in Shaa Allah, there is no excuse for any child in Zongo not to have senior high school education. We can have education free up to senior high and that is something we have to thank Allah for. It used to be a major problem.”

The Vice President expressed President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to continue to do more for Zongos and urged them to give the President 4 more years.

He said by the will of Allah, President Akufo-Addo will continue his development and education agenda, especially in the Zongos by building sixteen model senior high schools in Zongo’s in each of the sixteen regions, “in Shaa Allah in his next term.”

The National Chief Imam commended Dr. Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo for their efforts at ensuring peace and development in the country.

The Vice President was accompanied by the National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. Freddy Blay, and Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central, Hon. Patrick Boamah.
